Terry Geil

ABOUT ME
While he might be “new” to the comedy scene, Terry Geil is no stranger to making people laugh. Throughout his entire childhood and most of his adult life, he was constantly cracking people up with his witty, thought provoking comments. This was thanks to him being exposed at an early age to the albums of George Carlin, Richard Pryor and Steve Martin. He also spent a large majority of his childhood watching programs like Saturday Night Live, SCTV, Laugh-In and Make Me Laugh. As a musician, Terry has fronted bands for the last 20 years. His comic stage banter was usually better than the music. So finally, after much prompting from friends and family, he tried stand up comedy in 2011. The rest, as they say, WILL be history.
Hailing from the Willamette Valley in Oregon, Terry performed at his first mic in March of 2011, and by July, was getting booked at Oregon showcases in Eugene, Salem, Medford and Portland. He has recently started doing some casino gigs, as well. Being somewhat of a late bloomer, he dove headfirst into the Oregon stand up scene, hitting as many open mics in between showcases as possible, to hone his craft. He also has some minor acting experience in the form of a local tv commercial.
He has had the pleasure of sharing the mic with notable National headliners such as Ron Funches, Kristine Levine, Ian Karmel, Nathan Brannon, Mark G. and many, many more. The next phase is upon us, as Terry Geil takes his show on the road for the world to enjoy.
He recently tried to enter the Oregon's Funniest Comic contest and was told he was ineligible because he is "Just-Above-The-Threshold-Of-Amateur" and this is an amateur comedy competition. So this promtped Terry to do the Just Above The Threshold Of Amateur Mini-Tour. He teamed up with local comedian Ray McMillin and did shows in Portland, Salem, Albany, Reno, Sacramento, San Francisco, Eureka, and Eugene.
Living in his small hometown of Brownsville, tightly nestled between Eugene and Portland, there isn’t much to do but make fun of stuff. He draws his comedy from real life experiences, which can be quite harsh at times, and comes off as more of a storytelling comedian. Also, the fact that he only has one leg(well, he has two, but one of them is fake), makes his act quite unique as he quite often pokes fun at his own disability. His act is sometime referred to as “Stand Up On One Leg”, and not only will it make you think, you’ll be laughing your ass off while you do it.
